But even when you know your puppy is in good hands, being apart can be difficult. You wonder what they’re learning, what their days look like, and which little moments you're missing. At Puppy Steps Training, our training journals help you stay connected while your puppy is away for training. Through these training notes, photos, and videos, you can follow their progress, get to know their daily experiences, and celebrate the milestones along the way. Whether you’re considering a puppy board and train program or already preparing for your puppy’s stay, knowing how you’ll stay informed can make the experience feel less unfamiliar. Here’s how our journals bring families into the training journey. ##### What Is a Training Journal? A training journal is a record of your puppy’s experiences and progress during training. At Puppy Steps Training, journal entries give families a glimpse into the skills their puppy is practicing, the challenges they’re working through, and the moments that make their personality shine. Some entries summarize the day’s activities. Others focus on a particular training session, outing, or new skill. Together with photos and videos, they help you see what your puppy is learning beyond the basics. ##### More Than Updates: A Look Into Your Puppy’s Day Every puppy has a personality of their own, and no two training days look exactly alike. Our training journals give owners a glimpse into what their puppy has been working on, the experiences they’ve had, and the progress they’re making along the way. Some journal entries share a summary of the day's activities, while others focus on a particular training session, outing, or new skill. From practicing commands and improving leash manners to exploring new environments, these updates help families see what their puppy is learning beyond the basics. Some of our trainers' favorite parts of the day are getting the opportunity to share what makes each day special. That might mean highlighting a successful training session, describing a new experience, or sharing a funny moment that shows off a puppy’s unique personality. And again, want you to come along for every step of the way. ##### Celebrating the Little Wins Along the Way Progress doesn't always happen all at once. Sometimes, it's a puppy mastering a new command. Other times, it's gaining confidence in an unfamiliar environment, working through a challenge, or making improvements on a skill they've been practicing. These little wins are worth celebrating! Our training journals allow trainers to share all these milestones with owners, helping them see how their puppy is developing throughout the program. And when a puppy faces a challenge, we share how we're working through it and the improvements we're seeing. By sharing both the progress and the work behind it, we hope to help owners feel more connected to their puppy's experience. Because your puppy isn't just another dog in a training program. They're a member of your family, and their story matters to us, too. ##### Keeping Families Connected, Even From a Distance One of the hardest parts of sending your puppy away for training can be missing the everyday moments. You don't get to see every new discovery, watch every training session, or witness all the little personality quirks that make you smile. That's where our training journal and regular updates come in. Along with journal entries, we send families photos and videos each week so they can see their puppy in action. And sometimes, when there's an especially cute moment or something exciting to share, we love sending an extra update, too! These glimpses into your puppy's life help bridge the distance between home and the training facility. Instead of wondering what your puppy has been up to, you can follow along, celebrate their progress, and enjoy seeing them grow. We know that every photo, video, and update can mean a lot to a family waiting to bring their puppy home. Those moments are a reminder that even while you're apart, you're still an important part of your puppy's story. ##### Building a Foundation for Life at Home Professional puppy training is about more than what happens during a puppy's time with a trainer. It's about establishing a foundation that families can continue building on long after training ends. Following your puppy's progress helps you better understand the skills they've been practicing and the experiences they've had. It also gives you a window into their learning journey before it's time to bring them home and continue putting those skills into practice together. Our goal is to help puppies become confident, well-mannered companions while helping families build stronger relationships with them. Keeping owners informed throughout the process is one small but meaningful way we support that goal. The training may happen away from home, but the benefits are meant to last a lifetime. ![ACP\_5541](https://www.puppystepstraining.com/hs-fs/hubfs/ACP_5541.jpg?height=2000&name=ACP_5541.jpg) ### Ready to take the next step in your puppy’s training journey?
